ACTIVITIES IN AND AROUND HERSTON LOG CABINS AND SWANAGE

OUT AND ABOUT

There is so much to discover and experience around picturesque Purbeck; gateway to the Jurassic Coast, England’s first World Heritage Site.

Take a trip on the Swanage steam train to historical Corfe Castle from Herston Halt station, only a 5 minute walk. Enjoy walks along the spectacular coastline and National Trust countryside and why not try out some bird watching, fishing, watersports or even sandcastle building? And all within three miles of the Log Cabins.

You can abandon the car for your entire holiday if you wish, since the Log Cabins are a mere mile and a half from the bustling Seaside town centre of Swanage with its unspoilt town centre and shops, where you can visit the many interesting events including the Folk and Jazz Festivals. It is an even shorter distance to the sandy blue flag family beaches.

Further afield are Monkey World, the Tank Museum, Weymouth – home to the 2012 Olympic Sailing Academy, Poole Harbour and the bright lights of Bournemouth.
